ECLIPSE ALL OTHERS IN PERFORMANCE , ECONOMY, ACCOMODATION AND COMFORT

The GRIFFIN 340 is something new for the adventurer, cruiser or simply the avid sportsman in you.  It's been carefully designed to provide maximum use of spaces for a maximum of enjoyment and comfort.  Whether it's long passages, short day trips or running to your favorite fishing or diving location, the Griffin offers that flexibility. The standard layout offers 2 double staterooms, each with ensuite head, complete with deluxe electric toilet, holding tank and shower plus a fully mirrored vanity and basin.  The staterooms have an additional single berth, necessary for those times when extra separate berths are required, or use for storing kit bags on longer trips.  The U shaped UP galley has a 4 burner cooktop, grill and oven with lots of counter top spaces available for an at-home feel.

During the day, open the cockpit and enjoy seating that's positioned to maximize comfort, views and convenience.  Whether partially or fully enclosed by the available aft curtains, its simple to keep out the elements and cold nights while creating an extension of the salon with an additional pair of huge lounge seats and a dining area ideal for entertaining or relaxing.  With a draft small enough to get closer than ever to the sandy beaches, relaxing has never been this Relaxing.

The Griffin 340 is a full displacement catamaran designed in Australia and  lends itself incredibly well to extended in-shore and offshore cruising. The very fine displacement bows slice through the chop with ease , giving you the most comfortable ride technically possible in any boat this size. With a 17:1 length to beam ratio at the waterline you have very “slippery” hulls which equate to a good turn of speed with very little horse-power and hence, great fuel economy. The feeling you get while cruisng through a windblown chopCruising is absolutely surreal, yet, while in the low teens, speeds not readily obtainable by most trawlers, you still realize up to 4 nautical miles per gallon. With a top speed over 20 knots, you can get to where you want to go in a hurry and never get economy less than 2 nautical miles per gallon. Commercially recognized for easy maintenance, low cost and simple operation the standard Griffin 340 is powered by two Mercury 60 hp four stroke engines, with larger options and brands available.

Built near the shores of Puget Sound in the Pacific Northwest, using the most modern materials and construction techniques, the Griffin 34 will please a vast audience.  Whether you are a couple tired of pulling the “strings” on a sailboat, a family looking to cruise or a charter company looking for something different than the old tired trawlers, you owe it to yourself to seriously consider a Griffin 340!

ACCOMODATIONS

The ergonomically designed center helm affords room to stretch your legs and virtually a 360 degree view.  The main salon also accommodates the up galley and dinette, a great place to entertain when the weather isn’t perfect.  Below in each hull you will find a double berth forward and a private head aft which affords you and your guests complete privacy.

The cockpit aft is large and can be completely enclosed with a bimini & side panels which provides you an extension of the salon for entertaining or just relaxing.  Davits can easily be installed to carry your dingy should you be on cruise into Alaska or roaming the islands in the Caribbean.  And stepping down from the cockpit to the transoms, you have very easy boarding into and out of the dinghy or a kayak.  Forward is where you can spend time sunning or reading a book on the expansive foredeck.  Whether it be a cushion propped up against the windshield or laying in the trampolines, you can easily waste away the afternoon in complete comfort.

PERFORMANCE

The design concept of the Griffin 340 was to provide a platform that is not only comfortable but sturdy enough to handle open ocean crossings.  Hence, she will be safe, secure and rugged enough to handle the conditions in your cruising grounds.  Reinforcing this concept iis the premise  of Simplicity, Agility and Range.

Cruising around 12 knots with 60hp outboards, speeds not readily obtainable by most trawlers, you can realize up to 4 nautical miles per gallon.  But with a top speed of close to 20 knots, you can get to where you want to go in a hurry and never have economy worse than 2 nautical miles per gallon.

Add to this, engine service costs that are next to nothing with a  service life comparable to that of most diesels, what is there not to like about today's outboards!
